Thats me

That's me - those are probably big words. The fact is that I still don't know. In any case, I am describing my musical development so far.

I have always been fascinated by the creation of sound. As I didn't have the opportunity to learn music as a child, I learnt the guitar self-taught when I became more independent in my youth. Music lessons would have forced me too much into constructs.

Soon, in the 90s, electronic music, synthesiser sounds and the sampling of sounds from nature and the environment were added. A sound spectrum opened up for me that I immersed myself in back then and that I am still discovering with enthusiasm.

You can only hear the music when you become really quiet ...

Sound and contactimprovisation

The combination of my sound creation with contact improvisation changed my musical approach.

The interaction with the dancers and the creation of soundscapes opened up dimensions that I hadn't known before.

The special thing about it is that I am challenged to remain present. Reacting to the space, the dance, the atmosphere challenges me to be in the here and now. This experience transforms the ambience into music and soundscapes. A dialogue develops between me as a musician, the sound, the dancers and the space.

A wonderful field of growth.

Perfomance Projects - Oceanhand

The Kit-Enseble Vienna - a CI ensemble - performed the piece Oceanhands at Wuk in Vienna. The soundscapes I created allowed the audience to dive into the sounds of the sea. Read more. I'm looking forward to new performance projects - maybe with you?

The clarinet

Later on, I discovered the clarinet as an element of musical expression - and for the first time in my life, I was able to be shown the art of playing the instrument. I have been immersing myself in the mysterious world of the clarinet with Reinhard Grube for several years now. My favourite style is Klezmer, but I also like to play classical music and jazz.
